Spencer Perlman, legislative director for former Rep. John Porter, R-Ill., when Porter chaired the House Labor-HHS Appropriations Subcommittee, has joined lobbying firm Washington Strategic Consulting as a vice president. Since leaving Capitol Hill in 2001, Perlman worked as a legislative affairs manager at Ungaretti & Harris and as government relations director at Drinker Biddle & Reath. He has represented various healthcare and biotech interests, including Advocate Health Care, the Iowa Department of Public Health, and the National Association for Home Care and Hospice.
